1. What is counselling?
Counselling is the opportunity to discuss your thoughts and feelings about any issue that you face in every-day life that you may wish to explore and understand better, in a professional and confidential setting, with a qualified and competent counsellor, over a period of time. It is a collaborative process in which you as the expert in your life, gain greater awareness and find your own answers.
2. Who is it for?
Counselling is for everybody. Every human being has a basic right to have access to a trained professional who can help us in our overall growth and wellbeing. Even counsellors need counselling! Therefore anybody with a willingness to explore any area of life can benefit from meeting a counsellor.
3. How does it work?
Counselling is a continuous process where a counsellor uses a psychological framework to facilitate insight and awareness to help you discover your own answers. This process takes anywhere between 4-20 sessions depending upon your needs. Each session lasts for 1 hour. You can start by fixing an appointment with us after which will give you subsequent appointments after each session.
4. How long does each session lasts?
Each session lasts 60 minutes in length.
5. Will the information i share be kept as a secret?
Yes. All information that you share will be kept confidential. This is an extremely important ethical guideline for a counsellor where no information can be disclosed to another person without your consent. Therefore you can be confident that what you share will be kept as a secret. We at Fire to fly are ethically bounded to maintain confidentiality other than exceptional circumstances such as safeguarding issues or if required by law.
6. Can I attend counselling fortnightly or whenever I need it?
Yes you can, but we have found that counselling is most beneficial when accessed weekly. Regular sessions allow trust, openness and connection to develop which are fundamental ingredients to making counselling work.
7. Can I switch from one mode of counselling to the other?
Yes, you can choose the mode of counselling and you can request the change of mode during the session.
8. When and how do i make the payment?
All of our sessions are pre-booked. Hence, the payment needs to be done in prior in order for us to book your session. The payment for this needs to be done online.
9. Is cash payment mode available?
Cash payment mode is only available for face to face sessions.
10. When is Counselling Complete?
Sessions are complete when the issues that you have been sufficiently addressed or resolved. Ideally, this is determined with some discussion in advance of leaving, however, I fully support any reason you may have for terminating therapy. Should you identify a problem outside my realm of expertise, I will do my best to refer you to other therapists that I think would be more suitable.
